Newstaff will begin its own Driver CPC training at the end of January.

We plan to run Saturday courses every week with a change in training module every month. The cost will need to be confirmed but we plan to give a discount to registerd Drivers and our Employers.

“We need to make sure that all our drivers are fully trained up and have passed their CPC as soon as possible. Running Saturday classes will make sure that they don’t miss out on any work during the week.

We will be employing our own trainer so we can fully manage the training, making sure our Drivers have the best training at the best price, it also means we can help our employers to train there permanent drivers ether in our classes or on site.” Andy Newsome, Director.

1. Understand how agencies work. Temping Agencies put people on their payrolls and then send them into short or long-term temporary assignments that could be either part-time or full-time. Temp agencies deduct taxes and national insurance from a worker’s pay, like any other employer. Depending on the circumstances, temp workers could stay in a placement for a few weeks or months, or even longer, before moving on to a new job or being taken on permanent by the company they are temping for. Some workers like the flexibly or Varity. Some workers use the work as a stop gap or a way to find a permanent position.

2. Use the opportunity to polish your CV and interviewing skills. If you haven’t looked for a job in a while, use your employment agency appointment to freshen up your CV and interviewing skills. As with any job interview, dress appropriately, leave the kids at home and turn off your mobile phone.

3. Register with more than one agency. There’s nothing wrong with signing up with multiple agencies. The more agencies you register with, the more likely you’ll get work, but be 100% honest with all you have registered with, don’t be tempted to play off one agency with another. Agencies talk to each other and you could end up losing out on positions if your trust is lost.

4. Some work is better than none. Take whatever temp work is offered, even if it’s not exactly what you want to do long term. A temp assignment is a good way to keep your work history current, and that gives you a psychological edge with future employers. Employers would rather hire someone who’s already working than someone who’s unemployed.

5. Treat a temp job like a real job. Some people go into a temp placement thinking they don’t have to do their best because they’re short-timers. But that’s shortsighted, Show up every day. Be on time. Stick it out until the end of an assignment.

6. Hard work will pay off. Companies regularly use agencies to recruit staff or will offer the best temporary workers full time employment if a busy period remains busy.
