2nd Line IT Desktop Support
Newstaff Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced 2nd Line Desktop Support Engineer to join a very successful company in St Albans, Herts.
The IT support engineer will be responsible for taking initial calls from users and will provide effective 2nd line IT assistance across all aspects of the business. The position is responsible for providing a high level of support to all Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems as well as Microsoft Office 365 and SQL. The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT-related projects and activities at a time of growth for the IT Department and the wider firm.
Main duties
• The main duties of this role will be as follows:
• Provide 2nd Line desktop support for users across the firm
• Take phone calls and log tickets on the ticket system, resolve to the best of your ability
• Deal with any hardware issues, fixing peripherals
• Set up and maintain user accounts in Active Directory and Azure AD
• Support a range of Windows PC’s and Laptops
• Manage user accounts in Microsoft 365
• Assist with connectivity to Citrix
• Assist with SQL related issues
• Assist with Email connectivity on Mobile Devices (iPhone and Android)
You will regularly be required to provide onsite and direct support to users in the other offices, so travel to London, Rickmansworth, and Milton Keynes will be required on occasions.
Car owner essential

• Microsoft Word & Excel
• Microsoft 365
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft Teams
• Zoom
• Wolters Kluwer – CCH Central/Audit Automation/Document Management
• High Level of knowledge of Computer Hardware and Peripherals.
• High understanding of mobile devices (iPhones & Android).
• Detailed ticket logging abilities
Qualifications/education required
Required:
• 2 years’ experience in as 2nd line IT support engineer
• ITIL Foundation
• Relevant Microsoft Certification(s)
• Full/Clean Driving License
Desirable:
• Having worked in the accountancy sector previously

• Strong communication skills – able to deal effectively and confidently with both Partners and staff
• Friendly approach
• Organised with the ability to meet strict deadlines

• Ability to use joined up thinking to solve long term issues

• Willingness to learn
Monday to Friday – 8.30 pm to 5.30 pm – 37.5 hour week – Flexi time – Pension, Healthcare + other excellent benefits
Salary: £25,000 pa to £40,000 pa depending on skills / experience
