Conveyancing Paralegal in Harpenden
Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting an experienced paralegal to join their busy conveyancing team on behalf of our client, a progressive 500-legal firm based in Harpenden.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a minimum of 2 years’ conveyancing experience and a stable career history to progress their legal career within a dynamic and supportive environment.
📍 Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire
💷 Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum + excellent benefits package
🗓️ Schedule: Monday to Friday
🕕 Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and managing conveyancing files throughout transactions
- Obtaining title deeds, Land Registry titles, and plans
- Preparing contract documentation and obtaining searches
- Checking incoming posts and addressing matters arising
- Progressing transactions while keeping all parties informed
- Managing sales files from instruction to completion
- Preparing Completion Statements and handling transactions
- Post-completion processing and managing key dates
- Updating lenders through LMS Stars and Lender Exchange Portals
- Liaising professionally with clients, estate agents, lenders, and solicitors
- Closing files and managing residual balances promptly
- Maintaining accurate and updated client records
- Using Case Management Systems, Land Registry Portal, SDLT, Word, Outlook, and other relevant packages
- Supporting other fee earners within the department when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years’ conveyancing experience (ideally with the same firm)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Strong multitasking and prioritisation abilities in a busy environment
- Confident using case management systems with solid Microsoft Outlook and Word skills
- Exceptional organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Calm under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude
- Effective and supportive team player
