Counterbalance/Van Driver in Luton
Newstaff Recruitment Agency is recruiting for a Counterbalance/Van Driver on behalf of our client based in Luton.
Pay Rate: £30,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6 am start
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload goods from the Luton site, ensuring proper handling and secure transportation.
- Accurately log stock movements, including goods in and goods out, using the ERP system.
- Monitor stock levels and notify the production manager of any damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Collect stock from external suppliers and return it to the Luton site for storage.
- Transport goods to various project sites and external production facilities, including one 1.5 hours away.
- Ensure deliveries are completed on time and adhere to safety and company protocols.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe factory and yard environment.
- Organise stock in the warehouse for easy access and efficient operations.
- Communicate with the production manager and other team members to ensure accurate and timely stock handling.
- Work as part of a team to maintain the overall efficiency of the Luton site.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines while operating the counterbalance forklift and other equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure safe usage.
Requirements:
- Valid counterbalance forklift license with practical experience in a similar role.
- Full driving license
- Previous experience in goods handling, deliveries, and stock management is essential.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or similar software is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with manual handling and physically demanding tasks.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
