Drivers Mate in Houghton Regis
Newstaff Recruitment Agency is recruiting for a Drivers Mate on Behalf of our client based in Houghton Regis.
Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour + accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: 3 days a week (specific days to be confirmed)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load goods onto delivery vehicles at the start of the day, ensuring items are securely placed to prevent damage.
- Unload goods upon return to the depot, adhering to company safety and organisational standards.
- Assist the driver in delivering goods to various stores, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs.
- Handle goods during unloading at delivery locations, ensuring proper care and professionalism.
- Maintain clear and friendly communication with store staff during deliveries.
- Navigate routes efficiently, providing support with directions or other tasks as required.
- Ensure the vehicle is tidy and organised throughout the day.
- Work closely with the driver and other team members to meet delivery schedules.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Comfortable with manual handling, lifting, and carrying goods throughout the day.
- Available to work 3 days a week, with a consistent and dependable approach to attendance.
- Friendly and professional attitude when interacting with store staff and clients.
- Willingness to collaborate with the driver and contribute to the smooth execution of deliveries.
- Ensure goods are handled carefully to minimise damage and maintain quality.
