Learning Support Assistant – Milton Keynes

Newstaff Employment is recruiting experienced Learning Support Assistants to work across SEND provisions in Milton Keynes. You will support young people within PRUs, alternative education settings, and school SEN departments. Therefore, this role is ideal for someone passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.

Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £14.00 – £18.00 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible to suit your availability
Job Type: Flexible Supply / Temporary / Long-term opportunities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support young people with SEMH needs, EHCPs, and behavioural challenges.
• Help pupils overcome barriers that may affect their learning and development.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with young people.
• Encourage pupils to engage with learning and classroom activities.
• Support teachers and other education professionals throughout the school day.
• Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
• Promote positive behaviour and help pupils manage challenging situations.
• Follow all safeguarding and school procedures at all times.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You have experience working within PRUs, SEN, alternative provision, youth work, or a similar environment.
• You have a calm and resilient approach when supporting young people.
• You can build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• You feel confident supporting young people with emotional needs and challenging behaviour.
• You understand the importance of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• You are passionate, caring, and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
• You hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
• You can work effectively with teachers, support staff, and other education professionals.
