Legal Secretary/Audio Typist in Luton
Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Legal Secretary/Audio Typist in Luton to join a well-established legal firm within their Residential Conveyancing department. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a pivotal support role in a busy legal environment, where your fast typing skills and attention to detail will be highly valued.
📍 Location: Luton
💷 Salary: £26,000 per annum + excellent benefits
⏰ Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
📌 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing full secretarial support to the Residential Conveyancing department
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Audio typing and transcribing legal dictation with speed and accuracy
- Managing case files and documentation in line with compliance requirements
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, and other stakeholders professionally
- Maintaining diaries and organising appointments
- Supporting the wider legal team with administrative tasks
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a legal or office secretary (ideally in conveyancing or professional services)
- Fast, accurate audio typing skills are essential
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- A self-motivated team player with a positive, professional approach
