Recycling Operative – Sundon Park, Luton
Newstaff Employment is looking for someone to join a busy recycling operation in Sundon Park, Luton. This is a hands-on role working within a busy warehouse environment, where you will operate cardboard baling machinery, process recyclable materials, and help maintain a safe and organised workplace. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work and is looking for a long-term role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
Location: Sundon Park, Luton
Salary: £13.00 per hour plus accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Operate cardboard baling machinery safely and efficiently
- Collect, process, and prepare recyclable cardboard and waste materials
- Load recyclable materials into the baling machine
- Carry out manual handling duties throughout the working day
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Report any machinery faults or safety concerns promptly
- Support the wider warehouse team with general duties when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Good level of physical fitness
- Ability to operate machinery safely (training provided)
- Reliable with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience operating machinery or working within a warehouse or recycling environment is advantageous but not essential
