Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Sewing Machinist in Luton to join a well-established manufacturing company, producing high-quality bespoke curtains and soft furnishings to exact client specifications.
Location: Luton
Salary: £13.00 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am – 2:15 pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines to produce curtains and soft furnishings
- Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics with precision and care
- Assemble and finish products, including adding linings, hems, and decorative features
- Inspect finished items to ensure they meet strict quality standards
- Maintain sewing machinery through regular cleaning and basic troubleshooting
- Work closely with the production team to meet daily targets
- Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Sewing Machinist using industrial machines
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Ability to measure and cut fabric accurately
- Good understanding of curtain or soft furnishing production
- Reliable, organised, and able to work efficiently
- Positive team player with a strong work ethic
