Newstaff Employment is hiring a Bench Joiner on behalf of our client based in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy woodworking factory where you will manufacture and assemble high-quality timber products while working from technical drawings. Therefore, this role is ideal for someone with joinery experience or relevant qualifications who is looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent.
Location: Bedford
Salary: £15.00 – £20.00 per hour plus accrued holiday pay (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Measure, cut, assemble, and finish timber components
- Use woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
- Manufacture products to a high standard of quality
- Work independently while supporting the wider production team
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and report any concerns to management
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining excellent workmanship
Essential Skills & Experience
- GNVQ in Joinery, Carpentry, or an equivalent qualification
- Previous bench joinery or woodworking experience is desirable, although all levels will be considered
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings
- Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Reliable with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment
