Newstaff Employment is looking for someone to join a growing engineering team based in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to work within a professional manufacturing environment, producing high-quality precision components while benefiting from long-term career prospects and excellent progression opportunities.
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum (approximately £16.35 – £18.27 per hour), depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate, and maintain CNC turning machines
- Manufacture precision-engineered components to customer specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job
- Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment
- Ensure all finished components meet required quality standards
- Complete production documentation accurately
- Maintain machinery and keep the work area clean and organised
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience operating CNC lathes is essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good understanding of precision engineering and manufacturing processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good timekeeping and attendance
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled production team
