Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced and motivated Construction Contract Manager on behalf of our client based in Luton. You will take responsibility for contract management across a range of construction projects, working closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet contractual requirements, deadlines, and budgets.
Location: Luton
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle from preparation and negotiation through to execution and closeout.
- Review contract documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Monitor construction project progress and ensure all parties meet their contractual obligations.
- Identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks throughout project delivery.
- Manage contractual claims, variations, and disputes effectively.
- Resolve disputes through clear communication and professional negotiation.
- Work closely with project teams to support delivery on time and within budget.
- Prepare and maintain accurate contractual documentation and records.
- Ensure documentation complies with company procedures and relevant regulations.
- Monitor changes in construction legislation, regulations, and contract management best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- You have proven experience working as a Contract Manager within the construction industry.
- You have a strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and legal terminology.
- You understand construction contract law and relevant commercial requirements.
- You have excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You can manage multiple construction projects, contracts, and priorities simultaneously.
- You demonstrate strong commercial awareness and can identify potential contractual risks.
- You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- You are confident using contract management software and Microsoft Office.
- You have strong leadership skills and can work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Contract Law, or a related field is required.
- Professional contract management certification, such as CCM or CPCM, would be advantageous.
