Corporate and Business Tax Manager in St Albans
Newstaff Recruitment Agency in St Albans is recruiting for a Corporate and Business Tax Manager on behalf of a company located in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 per annum + Benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of tax compliance cases for a diverse client base including companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
- Collaborate with clients on routine and ad-hoc tax assignments through emails, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
- Oversee the collation of information required to prepare corporation and business/personal tax returns by liaising with audit teams, third-party professionals, and clients.
- Review tax returns prepared by other team members before client approval.
- Organise and attend client meetings, ensuring follow-up work is timely and within budget.
- Oversee the completion of the client portfolio’s annual employment tax returns (P11D and ERS).
Essential Requirements:
- CTA qualification is required. ACA or ACCA qualifications would be beneficial.
- At least 5 years of Corporate and Business Tax experience within an accountancy practice.
- Some experience with International Tax matters is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage client relationships effectively.
- Experience in overseeing and developing team members.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of Alphatax, Pro-Audit, and CCH document management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of operating in a commercial environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven people management and leadership skills.
