Newstaff Recruitment Agency is currently recruiting for a Corporate and Business Tax Manager based in St Albans.

Corporate and Business Tax Manager in St Albans

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £55,000 to £70,000 per annum + Benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of compliance cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with clients on routine and ad-hoc assignments through email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Oversee the collation of information needed to prepare corporation and business/personal tax returns, working closely with audit teams, third-party professionals, and clients.
  • Prepare and attend client meetings, ensuring all follow-up work is completed timely and within budget.
  • Review tax returns prepared by other staff members for client approval.
  • Oversee the completion of annual employment tax returns, such as forms P11D and ERS returns.

Essential Requirements:

  • CTA qualification is mandatory; ACA or ACCA would be beneficial.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Corporate and Business Tax experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Some experience in International Tax matters is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge and experience in a commercial environment.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage own workload.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • People management skills and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

IT Used:

  • Fully computerised returns and computations.
  • The successful candidate will need to become proficient in Alphatax, Pro-Audit, and the document management system (CCH).

  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Effective people management skills.
