Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Estimator in Luton to prepare accurate cost plans across a range of construction projects; in this role, you will analyse project data, control budgets and influence commercial decisions from tender stage through to completion.
Location: Luton
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documents carefully; therefore, you capture all cost elements
- Attend pre-tender and project meetings so you fully understand scope and requirements
- Work closely with project managers to identify risks, value engineering opportunities and scope changes
- Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
- Build and maintain structured cost databases for future tenders
- Use estimating software to produce clear reports and commercial breakdowns for stakeholders
- Ensure all estimates comply with relevant industry regulations and standards
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and pricing structures
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Commercial awareness with strong analytical skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
