HGV Class 2 Dustcart Drivers – Hemel Hempstead

Newstaff Employment is recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Dustcart Drivers for refuse and waste collection work in Hemel Hempstead. You will operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle while working alongside a professional loading crew on local collection routes. Previous dustcart experience is advantageous, although full training can be provided.

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £17.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time / Ongoing
Start Date: Immediate starts available

Key Responsibilities

• Drive an HGV Class 2 dustcart safely and professionally.
• Complete refuse and waste collection routes around Hemel Hempstead.
• Work closely with the loading crew throughout each shift.
• Complete collections safely and efficiently.
• Operate the refuse collection vehicle correctly.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow designated collection routes and schedules.
• Complete required driver paperwork accurately.
• Maintain a safe working environment around the vehicle.
• Follow UK road traffic and transport regulations.
• Comply with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time rules where applicable.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues and members of the public.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• You hold a valid Driver CPC.
• You hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• You have at least 12 months’ recent HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• You have no more than six penalty points on your driving licence.
• You have no DR or IN driving endorsements.
• Previous refuse or dustcart driving experience would be advantageous.
• You have a safe and professional approach to driving.
• You can work effectively as part of a loading crew.
• You are reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• You have good communication skills.
• You are comfortable working in an active outdoor environment.
• You can follow health and safety procedures accurately.
