Newstaff Employment is hiring a dependable HGV2 Distance Driver in Luton to complete long-distance deliveries safely and efficiently while joining an expanding logistics team with strong long-term prospects.
Location: Luton
Salary: £16.00 – £17.00 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time hours available (long-distance routes)
Job Type: Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities
- Drive HGV2 vehicles for long-distance deliveries across various locations
- Ensure goods are delivered safely and on time
- Carry out pre-journey vehicle checks and report defects promptly
- Keep vehicles clean and roadworthy at all times
- Complete delivery paperwork and transport records accurately
- Communicate clearly with logistics teams and customers regarding schedules
- Assist with loading and unloading when required
- Check loads are secure and follow all health and safety procedures
Essential Skills & Experience
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid CPC qualification card
- Digital tachograph card
- Previous HGV2 driving experience, ideally in long-distance work
- Strong understanding of transport laws and driver compliance
- Excellent driving record with a safety-focused approach
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Flexible and willing to progress into a permanent role
