Class 2 Driver – Immediate Start Available!

Location: Ampthill | Rate: £14.30/hour | Hours: Full-Time

Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting on behalf of our respected client, a family-run logistics company based near Ampthill.

They are currently expanding their full-time driving team and are seeking a Class 2 HGV Driver for a varied role that involves day work. Depending on workload there may be opportunites for Weekend work also.

What’s on Offer:

• £14.30 per hour

• Minimum 40 hours per week

• 20 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays

• Tax-free meal allowance of £2/day

Main Duties:

• Same-day long-haul deliveries and collections

• Multi-drop Class 2 pallet network work

• Loading and unloading at both the depot and customer sites

• Completing delivery paperwork and using electronic POD devices

✅ Candidate Requirements:

• UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 penalty points)

• Driver CPC (DQC) and Digital Tachograph Card

• Physically fit and active

• Flexible to work varied hours, including nights and nights away

• Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service

• Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network

• Ideally based within 15–20 miles of Ampthill

• Minimum 2 years’ experience desirable, though not essential

• Knowledge of the Working Time Directive and related legislation
