Newstaff Employment is hiring experienced HGV2 Dustcart Drivers on behalf of our client based in Hemel Hempstead. In this role, you will operate a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle while working alongside a professional loading crew to provide an efficient waste collection service. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for reliable drivers looking for long-term, full-time employment with a well-established organisation.
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £36,500 – £40,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
- Operate a HGV Class 2 refuse collection vehicle safely and efficiently
- Work closely with the loading crew to complete daily collection routes
- Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections before each shift
- Ensure waste is collected safely and in accordance with company procedures
- Complete all relevant driver and vehicle documentation accurately
- Follow all road traffic legislation and health and safety regulations
- Provide a professional service while working within local communities
- Report any vehicle defects or operational issues promptly
Essential Skills & Experience
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Minimum of 12 months’ recent HGV Class 2 driving experience
- Previous refuse or dustcart driving experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training can be provided
- No more than six penalty points (no DR or IN endorsements)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
