Newstaff Employment is hiring an organised Legal Secretary in Luton to support a busy legal team. This role sits within the Private Client department, although candidates with experience in any practice area are encouraged to apply.
Location: Luton
Salary: £26,000 – £27,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time) depending on experience + Excellent Benefits
Working Hours: Monday to Friday. Full-time hours are 9:00 am – 5:30 pm, with a one-hour lunch. Part-time hours are also available.

Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration paperwork.
- Maintain organised and accurate filing systems for all client matters.
- Handle client correspondence and pass key information to solicitors and clients.
- Arrange meetings, appointments, and diary schedules efficiently.
- Support the team with research and document preparation when needed.
- Ensure all work follows legal procedures, confidentiality rules, and compliance standards.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the legal team.
- Deliver a professional and welcoming service to clients at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Private Client, although all practice areas will be considered.
- Good understanding of wills, probate, trusts, or related legal work.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience using legal case management software.
- Strong typing and audio typing skills.
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to work.
- Able to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Friendly manner with strong teamwork skills.
- Car owner preferred, but not essential.
