Newstaff Employment is looking for someone to join a busy engineering team based in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MIG Welder to work within a professional workshop, producing high-quality fabricated components while enjoying consistent hours, long-term career prospects, and a supportive working environment.
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £16.50 – £18.00 per hour plus accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (full-time)

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG welding on mild steel and sheet metal components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Prepare materials prior to welding and fabrication
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards
- Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Work independently and as part of the engineering team to meet production deadlines
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous MIG welding experience is essential
- Ability to pass a practical weld test
- Experience working from engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good understanding of workshop health and safety
- Reliable with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
