Newstaff Employment is recruiting caring and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming nurseries across Dunstable. Whether you want one day each week or full-time hours, we can match you with placements that fit your availability. As a result, you can enjoy flexible work while building your experience in Early Years education.
Location: Dunstable
Salary: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible to suit your availability

Key Responsibilities
- Support children in nursery and Early Years settings.
- Help create a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment.
- Assist with daily learning activities and play sessions.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
- Support nursery practitioners and teaching staff throughout the day.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Adapt quickly to different nursery environments and routines.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working with children, ideally in a nursery or Early Years setting, is preferred but not essential.
- A Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Nursery or Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- You have a positive, reliable, and nurturing approach.
- You understand safeguarding responsibilities and always put children’s welfare first.
- You show compassion, enthusiasm, and patience when working with children.
- You hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or are willing to obtain one.
- You can provide satisfactory references.
- If you have lived outside the UK for more than six months during the last 10 years, you can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.
