Newstaff Employment is recruiting enthusiastic and caring Nursery Teaching Assistants to join our education supply team in Leighton Buzzard. Whether you are available for one day a week or five, we can match you with welcoming nurseries that suit your availability. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity to enjoy flexible work while gaining valuable experience within Early Years settings.
Location: Leighton Buzzard
Salary: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible to suit your availability
Job Type: Flexible Supply / Temporary

Key Responsibilities
- Support children throughout their daily nursery routines.
- Help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Assist with educational activities, play sessions, and group activities.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
- Support nursery practitioners and other Early Years professionals.
- Build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Adapt quickly to different nursery environments and routines.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- You ideally have experience working with children in a nursery or Early Years environment, although this is not essential.
- A Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 Nursery or Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
- You have a positive, reliable, and nurturing approach.
- You understand safeguarding responsibilities and always put children’s welfare first.
- You are compassionate, enthusiastic, and caring.
- You can adapt confidently to different nursery settings.
- You hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or are willing to obtain one.
- You can provide satisfactory references.
- If you have lived outside the UK for more than six months during the last 10 years, you can provide a Certificate of Good Conduct.
