Newstaff Employment Services is recruiting an experienced Painter and Decorator on behalf of our client based in Luton. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary, excellent benefits and the chance to work on a range of painting and decorating projects across public service and framework contracts.

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire
Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

As a Painter and Decorator, you will work across a range of commercial, public service and framework projects. Therefore, you must be comfortable working in different environments while maintaining a professional and reliable approach.

Your main duties will include:

• Completing a wide range of painting and decorating work.
• Preparing walls, ceilings and other surfaces before decorating.
• Applying paint, coatings and decorative finishes.
• Completing work to a high professional standard.
• Following site health and safety procedures.
• Working closely with other members of the project team.
• Protecting surrounding areas, furniture and equipment.
• Keeping work areas clean and organised.
• Travelling to different sites when required.
• Representing the business professionally while working at client locations.

Requirements

To be considered for this Painter and Decorator position, you will need:

• Previous professional painting and decorating experience.
• Experience working on different types of decorating projects.
• A current and relevant CSCS card.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A reliable and motivated attitude.
• The ability to work well within a close-knit team.
• The ability to work independently when required.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

Due to the nature of the contracts and working environments, you may also be required to complete a DBS check or additional client security checks. These may include BPSS clearance, site-based vetting or other security screening, depending on the project.
