Newstaff Employment is hiring a motivated and detail-driven Quantity Surveyor in Luton to manage project costs and protect commercial performance; in this role, you will control budgets, negotiate contracts and ensure construction projects meet financial targets without compromising quality.
Location: Luton
Salary: From £55,000 per annum upwards (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project budgets; therefore, financial planning remains accurate from the outset
- Monitor and control project expenditure throughout the build process
- Conduct regular site visits so you can assess progress and verify cost performance
- Collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors to align budgets with technical plans
- Prepare and submit tender documents and contractual agreements professionally
- Negotiate contract terms confidently with clients and suppliers to secure value
- Produce clear financial reports and forecasts for senior management
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
- Ensure full compliance with regulations, contractual standards and safety practices
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial frameworks
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Confident negotiation and stakeholder management ability
- Proactive and commercially aware mindset
