Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced Receptionist / Administrator on behalf of our client based in St Albans. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers while providing professional administrative support across the business. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a busy office environment.
Location: St Albans
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum plus benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome visitors and provide a professional front-of-house service
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls through the switchboard
- Manage meeting rooms, ensuring they are clean, organised, and ready for use
- Book couriers and arrange lunches when required
- Open, scan, and distribute incoming post
- Frank and prepare outgoing mail
- Manage diaries and schedule appointments where required
- Carry out a variety of general administrative duties
- Support colleagues with additional office tasks as needed
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience within a professional reception, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
- Previous experience within hospitality, retail, restaurants, bars, or similar customer service environments will also be considered
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, friendly, and confident manner
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
- Reliable, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
