Newstaff Employment is looking for someone to join a busy waste collection team in Hemel Hempstead. This is a physically active outdoor role offering consistent weekday hours, full training, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established employer.
Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £26,500 – £29,500 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 3:30 pm
Job Type: Full-Time, Ongoing with Permanent Opportunities

Key Responsibilities
- Collect household and commercial waste safely and efficiently
- Load refuse and recycling materials onto collection vehicles
- Work as part of a professional waste collection team
- Complete collection routes in line with daily schedules
- Follow all company health and safety procedures
- Provide a courteous and professional service to members of the public
- Keep collection vehicles and work areas clean and tidy
- Support colleagues with general operational duties when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Good level of physical fitness and ability to carry out manual handling duties
- Positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Previous refuse collection, waste management, or manual labour experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided
