Newstaff Employment is recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join our education supply team and work across welcoming schools in Leighton Buzzard. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in helping children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential. Whether your experience includes Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language, Complex Needs, or other additional needs, we can help you find opportunities where your skills and experience will be valued.

Location: Leighton Buzzard
Salary: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible, depending on individual school requirements
Job Type: Flexible Supply / Temporary / Long-term

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs, Complex Needs, and other additional needs.
• Help pupils access learning and participate in classroom activities.
• Adapt your support to meet each pupil’s individual needs.
• Encourage pupils to develop their confidence, independence, and social skills.
• Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff.
• Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour when required.
• Follow individual education plans and strategies provided by the school.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• You are patient, calm, resilient, and understanding.
• You can build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
• You can adapt your approach to meet different individual needs.
• You communicate clearly and effectively with children and colleagues.
• You work confidently both independently and as part of a wider education team.
• You have a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
• Experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language, or Complex Needs would be advantageous.
