SEND Tutor – Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire

Newstaff Employment is hiring an experienced SEND Tutor in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire to join our expanding Alternative Provision Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a meaningful role, supporting children and young people with SEND who are unable to access mainstream education through 1:1 or small group tuition.

📍 Location: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire & Hertfordshire
💷 Salary: £14.00-£17.00 per hour + accrued holiday pay
⏰ Working Hours: Flexible (Part-time, Full-time, Sessional)
📌 Job Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons across core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
  • Support children and young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties
  • Provide tuition in a range of settings, including homes, schools, community centres or online
  • Monitor progress, adapting your teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Liaise effectively with the Newstaff education team and local authority contacts

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • QTS, PGCE or demonstrable tutoring experience
  • Proven background working with SEND learners
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with young people and families
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
  • Driving licence and access to your vehicle (desirable)
