Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced Private Client Solicitor on behalf of a prestigious law firm in Stone. This senior Private Client Solicitor role will involve managing a varied caseload across Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, Inheritance Tax Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), Court of Protection matters, Deeds of Variation, and Contentious Probate. Reporting to the Head of Private Client, you will provide technically strong and empathetic legal advice while independently managing complex Private Client matters.
Location: Stone
Salary: £52,000 – £75,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience
Working Hours: 3–4 days per week

Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own varied caseload of Private Client matters.
- Advise clients on Wills and succession planning.
- Handle Probate and Estate Administration matters from instruction through to completion.
- Advise on Trusts and associated Private Client matters.
- Prepare and advise on Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- Handle relevant Court of Protection matters.
- Draft Deeds of Variation and other Private Client legal documentation.
- Advise clients on Inheritance Tax Planning.
- Handle Contentious Probate matters where required.
- Provide clear, practical, and technically accurate legal advice.
- Communicate professionally and sensitively with clients, beneficiaries, executors, trustees, and third parties.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised case files.
- Manage your diary, caseload, deadlines, and time effectively.
- Work closely with the Head of Private Client and wider legal team.
- Maintain high standards of client care throughout each matter.
Essential Skills & Experience
- You are a qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 7–8 years PQE.
- You have substantial experience within Private Client law.
- You have strong technical knowledge of Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, and Inheritance Tax Planning.
- You are confident handling your own Private Client caseload independently.
- You have experience with Lasting Powers of Attorney and related matters.
- You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You have excellent organisational, diary, file, and time-management skills.
- You can use your initiative and manage competing priorities effectively.
- You have a friendly, positive, and proactive approach.
- You are approachable and empathetic when dealing with clients and sensitive circumstances.
- You work effectively both independently and as part of a legal team.
- You are IT literate and confident using Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience handling Court of Protection matters, Deeds of Variation, and Contentious Probate would be particularly relevant to this position.
