Newstaff Employment is hiring SEN Teaching Assistants and Classroom Teaching Assistants in Leighton Buzzard to provide flexible support across local schools, where you will assist pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or within the wider classroom setting.

Location: Leighton Buzzard (including Dunstable, Milton Keynes and surrounding areas)
Salary: £13.00 – £15.00 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible – We work around your availability
Job Type: Supply / Temporary

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs; therefore, you help them access learning confidently
• Support small groups within the classroom to reinforce lesson objectives
• Assist the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day
• Adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs
• Work closely with teachers and SENCOs so pupils receive consistent support

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
• An understanding of SEN support strategies is desirable
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, proactive and reliable approach to work
• Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
