Newstaff Employment is hiring a Yard Operative on behalf of our client based in Hockliffe. This is a busy, hands-on role where you will work outdoors throughout the day, moving stock, carrying out manual handling tasks, and helping to maintain the company’s equipment. Therefore, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work and is looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent.
Location: Hockliffe
Salary: £13.00 per hour plus accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out manual handling and move stock and pallets throughout the yard
- Load, unload, and organise materials safely
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Inspect, repair, and maintain company equipment and stock items
- Keep the yard clean, tidy, and well organised
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Support colleagues with general yard duties as required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work throughout the day
- Reliable with excellent punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Basic practical or DIY skills to carry out minor repairs
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred due to the location
