Newstaff Employment is recruiting a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join a busy team in Stevenage. This is a hands-on role involving general yard duties, loading and unloading, and supporting daily operations. Therefore, this position would suit someone who enjoys physical work and working as part of a team.

Location: Stevenage
Salary: Approximately £12.71 per hour + accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Job Type: Full-time / Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general yard duties throughout the working day.
• Load and unload goods safely and efficiently.
• Move and organise stock around the yard.
• Carry out heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy, and organised.
• Assist with deliveries and collections when required.
• Support the wider team with daily yard operations.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You are physically fit and comfortable carrying out heavy lifting.
• You are happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• You have a reliable and hardworking approach to work.
• You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous yard, warehouse, or manual handling experience is desirable but not essential.
• You are willing to learn, as full training will be provided.
• You have good attendance and timekeeping.
