Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver for driving work in Luton. You will operate Class 1 vehicles and transport commercial goods safely across designated delivery routes. The role also involves vehicle checks, delivery records, loading and unloading, and compliance with UK Drivers’ Hours and road transport regulations.

Salary: £18.00 – £19.00 per hour
Working Hours: Various shifts available

Key Responsibilities
- Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally.
- Transport commercial goods to designated locations.
- Complete deliveries within agreed schedules.
- Carry out pre-use and post-use vehicle checks.
- Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery and mileage records.
- Complete relevant driver paperwork when required.
- Communicate with the transport team regarding delivery schedules.
- Provide a professional service when dealing with customers.
- Follow all relevant road traffic and transport regulations.
- Comply with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time rules.
- Assist with loading and unloading when required.
- Handle goods carefully and securely during transport.
- Follow company health and safety procedures.
Essential Skills & Experience
- You hold a valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence.
- You have previous HGV Class 1 driving experience.
- You have a strong understanding of UK road transport regulations.
- You understand Drivers’ Hours and Working Time requirements.
- You have a safe and professional approach to driving.
- You can manage your time effectively and meet delivery schedules.
- You have good communication and customer service skills.
- You are reliable and punctual.
- You can work independently and follow transport instructions.
- You are flexible and able to work different shifts when required.
