Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 2 Beavertail Driver for nationwide plant and machinery transport work from Hockliffe. You will operate a Category C beavertail vehicle to deliver and collect plant, machinery, and equipment across the UK. The role also involves loading, securing, and transporting equipment safely while following load restraint and road transport regulations.
Location: Hockliffe
Salary: £18.50 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime available
Job Type: Full-time / Ongoing

Key Responsibilities
- Drive an HGV Class 2 beavertail vehicle safely and professionally.
- Complete nationwide deliveries and collections from Hockliffe.
- Transport plant, machinery, and equipment.
- Load and unload equipment using the beavertail vehicle.
- Secure all loads correctly before starting each journey.
- Check load security throughout the journey when required.
- Follow correct load restraint procedures.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks.
- Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and maintained to a high standard.
- Complete delivery paperwork and driver records accurately.
- Follow planned routes and delivery schedules.
- Communicate with customers at delivery and collection points.
- Provide a professional and courteous service.
- Follow UK Drivers’ Hours and Working Time rules.
- Comply with road transport and health and safety regulations.
Essential Skills & Experience
- You hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
- You hold a valid Driver CPC.
- You hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- You have previous HGV Class 2 driving experience.
- You understand load restraint and transport regulations.
- You can safely secure plant, machinery, and equipment for transport.
- You take a professional, safety-focused approach to driving.
- You are reliable, flexible, and punctual.
- You can work independently and manage nationwide routes.
- You have good communication and customer service skills.
- Previous beavertail or plant transport experience would be highly advantageous.
