Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced HGV2 Long-Distance Night Driver for long-distance driving work from Milton Keynes. You will complete long-distance night deliveries, transport commercial goods safely, and ensure all deliveries arrive on time. This HGV Class 2 driving role requires previous long-distance experience and a strong understanding of UK Drivers’ Hours, road transport regulations, and vehicle safety.

Salary: £17.00 per hour
Working Hours: Night shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 2 vehicles on long-distance night routes.
• Transport commercial goods safely and efficiently.
• Complete deliveries within agreed schedules.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after each journey.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery and mileage records.
• Complete all required driver paperwork.
• Communicate with the transport team regarding delivery progress.
• Provide updates on delays or other issues when required.
• Follow UK road traffic and transport regulations.
• Comply with Drivers’ Hours and Working Time rules.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.
• Assist with loading and unloading when required.
• Ensure goods are handled and transported safely.
• Maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• You have previous HGV Class 2 driving experience.
• You have experience completing long-distance driving work.
• You are comfortable driving long distances during night shifts.
• You understand UK Drivers’ Hours and Working Time regulations.
• You have a strong knowledge of road transport and vehicle safety requirements.
• You have a safe and professional approach to driving.
• You can manage your time effectively and meet delivery deadlines.
• You are reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• You have good communication and customer service skills.
• You are flexible and can work different night shifts when required.
