Newstaff Employment is recruiting a reliable and hardworking Van Driver on behalf of our client based in Luton. You will initially work as part of a two-person crew delivering appliances to customers before progressing to independent driving routes once you have completed your probation.

Location: Luton
Salary: £13.50 per hour, increasing to £14.00 per hour after probation when moving onto solo routes
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 5:30 am starts, minimum 8 hours per day
Job Type: Full-time / Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver appliances safely and efficiently to customers.
• Work as part of a two-person delivery crew during the initial training and probation period.
• Load and unload appliances carefully and safely.
• Handle products correctly to minimise the risk of damage.
• Complete deliveries according to the planned schedule.
• Provide a professional and friendly service when dealing with customers.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Complete relevant delivery paperwork accurately.
• Follow road transport, manual handling, and health and safety procedures.
• Progress onto independent driving routes after successfully completing probation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You hold a full UK driving licence.
• You are confident driving a van and completing customer deliveries.
• You have a good level of physical fitness due to the manual nature of appliance deliveries.
• You are reliable, punctual, and comfortable with early morning starts.
• You can work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team.
• You have good communication and customer service skills.
• You can follow delivery schedules and instructions accurately.
• Previous van driving or delivery experience would be advantageous.
