Newstaff Employment is recruiting an experienced Painter & Decorator for a full-time position in Luton. This painting and decorating role will involve completing high-quality interior and exterior painting, decorating, preparation, and finishing work while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship. You will work across a variety of projects and must be confident completing painting and decorating tasks both independently and as part of a team.

Location: Luton
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 3:30 pm
Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out painting and decorating work to a consistently high standard.
• Prepare walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces before decorating.
• Apply paint and other finishes accurately and professionally.
• Complete preparation work, including filling, sanding, and making good surfaces.
• Ensure finished work meets the required quality standards.
• Protect surrounding areas, fixtures, and fittings while completing decorating work.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
• Use painting and decorating tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Work efficiently to complete projects within agreed timescales.
• Work independently when required while also supporting the wider team.
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience

• You have proven professional painting and decorating experience.
• You can complete preparation, painting, decorating, and finishing work to a high standard.
• You demonstrate excellent attention to detail and take pride in the quality of your workmanship.
• You are reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• You can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• You are comfortable undertaking a physically active role.
• You can manage your workload effectively and complete work within agreed timescales.
• Having your own painting and decorating tools would be preferred.
• A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
